Finding the right investor atthe right moment is one of the biggest challenges for early-stage health founders, and our event on April 7th was another step in our efforts to make that a little easier. Seven startups working in digital health and medtech pitched to a room of business angels and early-stage investors as part ofAleap's Angel Investor Pitch & Connect series.

Actential, Synplan, Previto,Bedre Barsel, Viscale, Alfred Surgery, and baba.vision each presented their companies and the health challenges they are working to solve, covering everything from preventive health and surgical planning to maternal care and diagnostics. Before the event, all seven worked with Aleap advisors in pitch preparation sessions. The results have spoken for themselves: one founder has already lined up four follow-up meetings with investors they met on the night. "Meetings like this really bring value to the companies," they wrote to us the following morning. "This is what I have been missing."

The investor side of the roomwas equally engaged. Several are already in conversation with companies theymet on the night, and the feedback we have received since points to a real appetite for more structured interaction between founders and investors after the pitches, something we will look to build into future editions.

We were also delighted to have Nicolaj Hojer Nielsen join us as keynote speaker. Nicolaj shared his perspective on what angels look for when backing health founders at the pre-seed stage, and it set exactly the right tone for the evening's conversations.

Norway has strong health innovation coming out of its hospitals and research environments. Getting those innovations funded early is the hard part, and this event is one of the ways we try to make that happen. "Four follow-up investor meetings from a single evening is a great outcome," says Shane West, Aleap's Head of Medtech. "That is exactly the kind of result we build these events for."
