Frequently Asked Questions
The most common things people ask us, and our answers.
Do you take equity?
No, Aleap does not take equity in the startups that join the incubator.
Membership is structured as a paid monthly service, which covers access to workspaces, business advisory, community events, and support services. This allows founders to retain full ownership and control of their companies while benefiting from Aleap’s specialized health innovation ecosystem
Can I work from Aleap full time?
Yes, Aleap members can absolutely work full-time at the incubator.
Members have access to dedicated desks or office suites, fast internet, meeting rooms, and shared facilities such as printers and kitchen areas—making it fully equipped for full-time work. The incubator is designed to support the daily operations of health startups and encourages members to embed themselves in the vibrant and collaborative environment Aleap offers.
Additionally, being present on-site allows you to take full advantage of networking, community events, and spontaneous knowledge sharing—key aspects of the Aleap experience.
Is there a fixed program or timeline?
No, Aleap does not follow a rigid, fixed curriculum. Instead, members benefit from a flexible support model shaped around their needs. The goal is to offer hands-on help, from product validation to investor readiness, while allowing startups the freedom to grow at their own pace. Graduation is expected after about three years
Do I have to be based in Oslo?
No, startups do not need to be based in Oslo to join Aleap.
While the majority of Aleap members are located in Oslo and work from the Oslo Science Park, Aleap supports health startups from across the Nordics. Remote engagement is possible, and companies can still access advisory services, partner networks, and select community benefits without being physically present full-time.
However, having a local presence may enhance your ability to fully benefit from Aleap’s co-working facilities, networking events, and in-person collaboration opportunities.
What’s the difference between Aleap and other incubators?
Aleap is the largest health-focused incubator in the Nordics, offering a uniquely tailored model called The Aleap Model. Unlike generalist incubators, Aleap provides:
- Sector-specific advisory from health veterans
- Deep connections to public and private health networks
- Access to a corporate partner program (e.g., HSØ, Oslo Kommune)
- Collaboration opportunities with pharma leaders like AstraZeneca through mentoring exchanges
Who can apply to join Aleap?
Aleap welcomes health-focused startups and entrepreneurs who are developing innovative solutions within the fields of:
- Medical Devices
- Pharmaceuticals/Drugs
- Diagnostics
- Digital Health
To be considered, applicants should ideally have:
- A dedicated and capable team
- An innovative healthcare solution
- Evidence of product-market fit or strong potential for it
While most members are based in Oslo, we also supports startups from across the Nordics. If you are committed to addressing healthcare challenges and building a scalable business, you are encouraged to apply
